Hello ... it's me and welcome back to my style diary! How was your weekend, what did you get up to?
What did I get up to you ask? Oh... just went to the Adele concert! Yes that's right, my boyfriend and I were 2 out of 95,000 who attended night 2 of Adele's sold out Sydney concert. It was such an unforgettable experience!! It would have to be the best concert I've been to so far! And trust me I've been to a lot of good ones! There's no doubt Adele is a complete superstar and we all know the girl can sing, but what I loved about her the most was how engaging she was with her down-to-earth, modest and honest personality. She made me feel like I was hanging out with my best friend, having a chat, some laughs on a regular Saturday night and singing along to some tunes...well I was trying to sing along! You can tell she doesn't take herself too seriously, that she controls fame (it doesn't control her) and that she's so comfortable with who she is. A true role model.
She looked gorgeous in a burgundy, off-the-shoulder sparkling dress by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad. The sparkle came from the 10,000 Swarovski crystals covering the whole dress. It was adapted from the design Zuhair Murad unveiled on the runway of his 2015 autumn collection, Adele though added longer sleeves. With the off-the-shoulder you got a glimpse of her upper back tattoo of flying birds which I thought was cool. Overall, the dress looked amazing on her and encapsulated her love for old-school glamour. (Read Zuhair Murad's Billboard interview about the dress and see pics here)
For every new event calls for a new dress I say! While browsing through Iconic I came across this gorgeous dress by Keepsake the Label. I instantly knew it was what I wanted to wear to the concert - I think it's very Adel-esque but still me! It kinda reminds me of the Valentino dress she wore to the 2013 Grammy's in terms of the style. (Picture here) How it's similar and Adel-esque is through the high neckline, the floral design, see through sleeves and the classic silhouette. How it's Jodie Mae is through the layered flare cuffs, the lattice panelling details and the right amount of sexiness it gives with the exposed shoulders and front keyhole slit. Altogether this dress embodies the 3 f's any woman wants for a night out - feminine, fun & flirty.
When I was getting ready I remembered these Samantha Wills earrings I had in my jewelry box that I knew would complement the elegance of this dress well and add that old-school glamour. To match the gold tones of the earrings, I went with my gold quilted chain sling bag from Charles & Keith - the perfect size to fit your essentials and take to a concert.
Plus I couldn't go wrong with my favourite black suede heeled sandals which match with everything!
(You can see I've worn them with two other outfits featured in my previous blogs!)
The night was beautiful and I had a beautiful dress to go with it! Kudos to those behind the production of Adele's concert, it was well thought out and creatively executed. The in-the-round stage with a huge circular screen at the centre of the ANZ stadium was ingenious! I've always said I wanted an artist to do that, it just makes sense!! Adele's stunning performance was effortlessly flawless! Well worth the money, the wait and the struggle of public transport with thousands of other people!
Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed my photo story.
