The Lighthouse

The weather in Sydney has been underwhelming to say the least. Just non stop rain rain rain! I guess the good thing about it though is it forces me to slow down, take it easy and appreciate the comfort of my own home - I mean we all have to slow down sometimes right? One of my favourite things to do on a wet, dreary day is curl myself up in a ball on the couch and watch classic movies from the 80's - early 00's. Even when I'm down in the dumps (especially when my monthly friend comes to visit) these movies with their charm, sweetness and humour automatically puts me in a better mood. No wonder why they're called 'feel good' movies... or how I like to call them an 'escapism from reality'! To name a few on top of my list that I can continue to watch over and over again are: Clueless, Pretty in Pink, The Last Holiday, most Tom Hanks romantic comedies (Sleepless in Seattle, You've got Mail, The Terminal), uhmm ... basically ALL Hugh Grant movies like, Two Weeks Notice, Notting Hill, About a Boy, Bridget Jones Diary and lest we forget the ultimate classic, Pretty Woman.

I had my pretty woman moment a couple of weekend's ago, when the sun finally decided to come out to play, in this gorgeous dress by local label Paddo to Palmy. I came across this label while scrolling through trusty Instagram and saw the beautiful @elle_ferguson in their baby blue louvre dress! Of course it was sold out by the time I clicked through to their online store, but I wasn't too crushed as it lead me to their Il Riccio dress in their signature brown polka dot print which I'm wearing in this photo story and which I absolutely adore!

I have so much love for this maxi dress as it's so effortlessly chic and comfortable. The way the label described how the intricate pleating of the skirt in the front and the back accentuates your waistline whilst narrowing your hips is spot on! The fit and flare style is extremely flattering and would look amazing on any woman. With it carrying the similar brown polka dot print as the one Julia Roberts wears in Pretty Woman, with it's leg-lengthening length (especially on a shorty like me) and with it's simplistic charm it's hard not to feel like I've transported into the polo match scene of the movie! And with Watson's Bay as your back drop you can't help but feel like a shining star. I really enjoy coming here, specifically around the Macquarie Lighthouse as there's usually hardly anyone there, so it's very peaceful and relaxing.

Plus you get to run into cutie's like this who want a belly rub!

I kept it simple with the accessories and went with my long rose gold necklace with a cross stitched circular pendant to pair with my Tiffany's necklace I wear on the daily and then finishing the look with wedged espadrilles from Dune London.

I hope the sun is shining wherever you are - make sure to take advantage of it and be outdoors! Live each day doing what you love, radiating peace and positive energy along the way!

As always thank you for reading xoxo
